Introduction to Oxford Fetal Medicine
Oxford Fetal Medicine is a private health practice specialising in pre-natal scanning headed by Lawrence Impey, Consultant Obstetrician at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and a specialist in ultrasound and fetal medicine. Our private services supplement those provided to expectant mothers by the NHS, and offer an earlier and more accurate indication of the genetic health of the fetus. Although Down's syndrome and the other genetic defects we screen for are more common in the babies of older women, mothers of all ages may find it reassuring to have this information early in the pregnancy.
